Yamaha motorcycles have featured prominently throughout my riding life and have provided some of my most memorable journeys. From the rugged XT600 to the capable XT660Z Ténéré and the often-overlooked SRX600, Yamaha consistently built motorcycles that appealed to the traveller in me rather than the speed enthusiast. They were practical, dependable and always seemed happiest when pointed towards the horizon. The XT660Z in particular became synonymous with adventure and long-distance travel, proving that reliability and simplicity often matter more than outright performance.
