Over the past four decades I have travelled more than 400,000 miles by motorcycle, while my 2002 BMW R1150GS Adventure has covered more than 260,000 miles of its own. In 2011 I was honoured to be selected by the Ted Simon Foundation as one of the inaugural Jupiter's Travellers, an experience that encouraged me to look beyond the motorcycle itself and focus on the people, places and experiences that make travel so rewarding. Tyclyd is where I share the photographs, stories and memories gathered from a lifetime on two wheels.
Having the freedom to travel by motorbike I can go left or right but sometimes there is simply no getting away from the inevitable – sometimes you just know your going to get very wet…
Off to Walters Arena near Abercrave today for the 2014 UK ‘Dawn to Dusk’ racing – edge of the seat action with 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour endurance racing, live music, food and bars – what more could you need for a UK bank holiday weekend… and its not raining!
Might have left my departure a bit late – got about 1750km to do to make the train on Sunday – the bike has been faultless and I trust her to continue the be the same – new set of tires will be required and an oil change for a treat, gearbox still rattling away but lets just call that characterful…
